Biography

Rachel Jillett is Glen Innes born and raised.

Rachel grew up with traditional country music being played in the household, with her late father Evan, playing guitar and her mother Cheryl, playing piano and sister Carmel, joining in the singing, in their regular sing songs in their home.

Rachel’s late father, Evan, taught Rachel to play the guitar and Rachel was given a guitar by her parents for her 14th birthday.

Rachel Jillett is known for her love of traditional country music, however, 2018 saw Rachel Jillett release her very first Celtic recording “Land Of The Beardies”, written especially for Rachel to record, as it documents Glen Innes’ history and pioneering days.

The song mentions Glen Innes’ pioneers, landmarks, events and details the history, lifestyle and beauty of the town. The song is further testament that the spirit of the pioneers lives on.

Rachel Jillett is proud of her town and loves to promote it wherever possible.

“Land Of The Beardies”, Rachel’s debut Celtic release, has been receiving radio airplay nationwide since its release in May, 2018 to the delight of Celtic music fans and Glen Innes residents, past and present, alike.
